About a year or so ago I had an idea that I wanted to create a doodle stock imagery shop.

The world of stock imagery is full of weird images that are both boring and problematic. They are used to communicate our world, work and ideas and whilst there is loads of great stuff out there, I felt there was lots of room for my visual spin to help creators communicate their ideas in a positive and inclusive way.

Yes, people can hire me to create illustration for their projects, documents and reports but not everyone is able to do this always. There are so many people out there writing about important things that I wanted a resource to support that.

A doodle with some amazing words can be a powerful combination to help people stop, think and consider.

I thought about it for ages, twiddled my thumbs, kept coming back to it and ignored it for a bit and then decided to take action. Along the way I got stuck and stalled for periods of time and with a little help from my friends, (you know who you are) re-started picked it back up and kept going. As I got further into the process, I got more and more excited by the possibilities.

Then here we are the hard bit is done, the shop is now open and the fun can now start.

My mission is to fill it with loads of original amazing clip art and illustration for anyone creating slide decks or email newsletters or social media.

Each month I will focus on doodling to a couple of themes and then upload to the shop , you lovely people will be able to nominate topics and I can’t wait to provide more alternatives for us to choose from.

There is nothing more frustrating than pouring your heart and soul into writing amazing words and then not being able to find a decent picture just to help illustrate your point. There are only so many times you can use terrified woman in front of a computer laughing at her bosses terrible joke stock photo to talk about “ the workplace”.

Anyway like all things, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea and it won’t solve all of your visual needs, but you know what, it may solve some, if nothing else have a browse and enjoy some of the jokes in the item descriptions.( I put them there on purpose)

I can’t wait to make it mahoosive, but for now check out day one…and know that you were here at the beginning, let’s see what happens…..http://ko-fi.com/inkypix4u
